Following a sluggish year, figures have shown that home sales in the UK fell in November with the property market demonstrating a limp end to the year. In November the amount of residential properties sold for over £40,000 was 77,000, according to HM Revenue and Customs. (HMRC)

This was 6,000 less than November the year before and down from 80,000 in October this year as there’s been a significant drop in demand from first time buyers.

Nationwide Building Society and Halifax further recorded that housing prices fell in November compared to October, consequently making the average cost of renting rise again to a record breaking £692 a month.
